'Apprentice' & 'Green Bananas'

Apprentice

I know I should be the master
Of my own healing
But when I saw your coiled limbs
Lines wrinkling every corner
I had hoped you would gather me up
Acknowledge the heat beneath my ribs
And be the inspiration
For my apprenticeship

Green Bananas

Green bananas
Hard
Starchy
You handed three to me
As a sign of peace to come
Promising me they would ripen
When I felt safe again
Moist
Soft
Bruised

But now?
Now That I have grown into my displacement
Now that I
Myself
Am
soft and bruised?
I have no bananas
and if I did
I would need more than three
